MUSICAL POWER COUPLE

One of the biggest musical power couples right now has to be Jay Z and Beyonce.  With billions of records sold between both of them, you can't get bigger then them.

Jay Z, born Shawn Corey Carter in 1969, is a top Hip Hop artist and a well known businessman. He is the former CEO of Def Jam Records and Roc-a-Fella Records. He co-owns the 40/40 Club and the New Jersey Nets.  Now that's BIG. He is originally from Marcy Houses housing projects in Brooklyn.  At the age of 7, his mother bought him a boom box set for his birthday and this sparked his interest in music. He began writing rhymes, freestyling and following popular music at the time.  Through the years he became friends with the Notorious B.I.G and Busta Rhymes. With albums such as Reasonable Doubt, The Dynasty Roc La Familia, The Blueprint and The Black Album, Jay Z is one of the best that has ever done it.

Just recently Jay Z and Stargate have created a new label, StarRoc. The recording studio will be based in Jay Z's Manhattan Roc the Mic studio. He also has a clothing line called Roc-a-Wear.

Jay Z married Beyonce Knowles, the singer/songwriter from Texas, on April 4, 2008.

Beyonce is well known for being the lead singer in Destiny's Child and for her solo career. With solo albums such as Dangerously in Love, B Day and I am.....Sasha Fierce, Beyonce is continuing her amazing talent and success.  She also has a chic clothing line called House of Dereon.  I have seen some of her clothes at Macy's and the line is cute and perfect for the true fashionista.  Jay Z and Beyonce are an inspirational musical power couple that not only produce great entertainment but are also amazing philanthropists. They both work with charities close to heart and always give back.
