FFF- FUN FEARLESS FEMALE

This week's Fun Fearless Female is one of my FAVE new actresses, Leighton Meester. She was born on April 9, 1986 and she is an American actress best known for her role as Blair Waldorff on Gossip Girl. She may look like she has lived a privileged life, but growing up was tough.

Meester's parents were involved in a drug ring that smuggled marijuana from Jamaica to the United States. Both were arrested for the ring, and her mother was released on bail. While out, her mother became pregnant and once she was convicted, she spent her pregnancy in a Texas prison. Her mother gave birth to her in a Texas hospital and had to go back to prison for ten years.  Meester was sent to live with a relative as a newborn. Her mother was released two years later and resumed her role as a mother and raised Meester in Florida.

As a young women who learned to forgive and love from a very young age, I find her a very Fun Fearless Female.
