EMOTIONAL HEALTH

Have you ever obsessed over something that is going on in your life? It could be money, your weight, the way you're being treated?  All of these things can lead us into emotional turmoil. Stop obsessing! Here's how:

1) DISTRACT YOURSELF- Turn the music on, dance or clean your house. Take about ten minutes to break the cycle of obsessing over something.  Ten minutes is what it takes.

2) MAKE A DWELL DATE- Try not to dwell during work hours. If you NEED to dwell on something, do it after work for five or ten minutes.  Then brush it off, and re-group yourself.

3) 3 MINUTES OF MINDFULNESS-  Close your eyes for three minutes and acknowledge the thoughts going through your mind.

4) BEST AND WORST SCENERIOS- Ask yourself, "What's the worst that can happen?" Visualizing yourself handling these situations can relax the anxiety you're feeling.

5) CALL A FRIEND- A friend can always enlighten your mood when you need them.

6) LEARN TO MOVE ON- Sometimes it's ok to say "Oh well."

If you're prone to obsessing, use these tactics before you spin out of control......
