STRETCH THAT CAKE!

This post got MAD love back in January, I had to post it again:

Have you ever heard me say, Need More Cake? And I ain't talking about the yummy sweet cakes. I'm talking about money, paper, chedder, dollars (see my post on Ebonics 101).

It's not even about being cheap, it's about stretching your dollar as far as it will take you.

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Starbucks, Manicures, Eating Out, Dressing Well, Travelling and Hair Salons. These are the few things that make me happy, but cut into my savings at the end of the month. The next few examples will show you how to alter your rituals just a little bit and still be able to save too.

Starbucks Card Rewards- If you have one, good stuff! If not, get one! When you register your card online, they waive certain things such a syrups and specialty milks. Starbucks also sells syrups and mocha powder so you can enjoy your own latte at home. I have mastered the perfect way to make my at-home latte!

Manicures/Pedicures- I find my feet in the water and nails being filed more than anyone I know! Most nails salons and shops offer a combo deal. Look for those deals where a manicure/pedicure is about $40 together and do both once a month. In between, every two weeks, you can go for a manicure for about $15 and color change on your toes for $10. This way you can have your color changed more often without paying the full pedicure price. Just a suggestion.

Hair- As for my hair I always find great ways to style it myself. Whether you get color, highlights or a little trim, try and stretch out that dollar. I go for highlights every 3-4 months and at the same they do a trim for free. Bonus.

Dining Out- I love to cook, but I also love to dine out. Pick one restaurant a week to go out and eat, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, just go once, and prepare other meals at home.

Oh and that pic is a real Cake!
