HOW TO GET FINANCIALLY ORGANIZED:
1. Select a bank that allows you to schedule and pay bills online. Typically they use E-checks and charge you around 25 cents per check. This is cheaper than a stamp folks. You must pay your bills on time to get organized.
2. Gather up all your bills and schedule when you want each bill to be paid. In most cases, online bank accounts allow you to get organized by scheduling reoccurring bill payments. This lets you set it and forget it.
3. Get a file cabinet and designate 1 section for financial information. Within in that section, label file folders for taxes, bank statements, retirement account statements, Insurance, titles, and pay stubs. When you can clearly see the different categories, you will get organized quicker.
4. Set aside a designated time each week to go through bills that you cannot pay automatically. For example, it isn't smart to automatically pay utility bills if they change each month. You want to be aware of the money going out of your account. Set up the same time each week to pay those bills. Write this time into your planner to get organized financially.
