THE IMPORTANCE OF ORAL HEALTH
Did you know that your oral health is an important part of your overall health? Oral health problems such as oral pain, missing teeth or oral infections can affect a person's physical, mental and social well-being. Keeping a healthy mouth is an important part of leading a healthy life.



5 Steps to Good Oral Health:

1.See your dentist regularly- Regular checkups and professional cleanings are the best way to prevent problems or to stop small problems from getting worse

2.Keep your mouth clean- Use a soft bristle toothbrush, brush your teeth and tongue at least twice a day to prevent plaque and bacteria

3.Floss Everyday- If you don't floss, you are missing more than a third of your tooth surface

4.Eat and Drink Healthy- Healthy food is good for your general health and oral health. The nutrients that come from healthy foods help fight cavities and gum disease

5.Avoid ALL tobacco products- All forms of tobacco are dangerous for your oral health

-bleeding that you can't explain

-white or red patches

-numbness or tingling

-small lumps and thickening on the sides of your tongue

-open sores that don't heal for 7-10 days
