BUYING A HOME TIPS

TOP TIPS ON BUYING YOUR FIRST HOME:

1.Focus on a specific area. A lot of times, first time home buyers tend to want to look in a large number of areas and neighborhoods instead of just focusing on a couple.

2. Be familiar with the product and market. First time homebuyers should attend as many open houses as possible in order to become familiar with the type of properties currently on the market in their price range

3. Find a good broker. Seek out the services of a broker who really knows the market where you are looking to buy and ask to see documentation for at least 3 properties that recently closed in the particular area where you have focused your search

4. "Check under the hood". Always employ the services of a professional Home Inspector

5. Know your negotiating power. For example, having a larger down payment may earn you some negotiating power, because you are more likely to be able to secure a mortgage

6. Use professionals. Always use a professional attorney who is well versed with the ins and outs of real estate closings, as opposed to selecting a friend or relative who just happens to be an attorney

GOOD LUCK!
