ADVANTAGES OF STARTING A FAMILY AT A YOUNG AGE

I found this article and I wanted to know your thoughts:

Years ago, couples married and started families earlier. Nowadays, if a couple starts a family right out of high school or even in their early 20s, they are often looked down upon. Many people are choosing to wait until they are older to start families, whether it is to focus on their careers or for some other personal reason. This is admirable in some ways. Yes, you should be financially secure and prepared to start a family before you choose to start one. But there are still many advantages for having a baby when you are still young.

Raising children requires a lot of energy. Most people in their early 20s still have a lot of energy, whereas older couples might not have as much energy to deal with the physical demands of raising a family. Young couples will be able to keep up with small children better.

Younger people also can still easily relate to the younger crowd. They may have a better time children because they can still manage to be silly and run around having fun. It may be easier to connect with the children when they become teenagers because the children will not see them as being ancient since they are relatively close in age.

If a couple starts a family when they are 32, they will be about 50 years old when their very first child graduates from high school. If they have more than one child then they will be even older when their last child graduates from high school. That is not to say that people in their 50s are old. But if a couple is looking forward to child-free days so they can travel, camp, hike, and do other sorts of activities together, mid to late 50s can be quite old. Those activities may be out of the question by that point.

When a young couple starts a family, they will be much younger by the time their children (hopefully) leave home. They will still be young enough to enjoy many of the activities they planned for after the children leave. Anything is possible when they are still young enough to do things.

What do you think?
